canon point: Flexible.
notes: Open to AU'ing Harunori into other canons, including modern AUs, although would like to discuss first before assuming modern era. My pref is for historical settings from various points of Western or Japanese history, fantasy AU's or steampunk AU's. While I am familiar with the book, I like to incorporate elements from the Takarazuka musical adaption of the story (Tsukigumi, 2012) which is also where my PB is from.

medical info: Nothing worth of note.
offensive subjects/triggers: Canon features unsafe abortion, various illnesses, violence and mental illness, but with Harunori any of this is unlikely to come up.

About.

1912, first year of the Taisho Period.

Third son of Prince Toin and the one on whom all his father's hopes rest. He has two sickly older brothers. At age 25, he already serves as a general for the Imperial Horse Guards, but has resisted marriage, until he one night sees Satoko Ayakura at the opera, falling instantly in love and accepting, when his parents suggest her as a eligible match. They are engaged, but without him knowing about it, she initiates an affair with her childhood friend, Kiyoaki Matsugae and becomes pregnant. To hide her sin, her parents send her away to have an abortion, but this only makes her seek refuge at her aunt's convent where she vows to become a nun. The Imperial family is told that she has gone insane, thus making it possible to end the engagement honourably, but Harunori senses something is off about the story.
